Getting Involved

Owen Brown is a wonderful place to live thanks to all the people that volunteer to help improve our community!  Here are just a few ways to get involved in the Village.

Become a Member of the Board of Directors

You can volunteer and run to sit on the Board of Directors. Be a part of making decisions that affect your village!  Elections are held every year at the end of April. Anyone interested in running will need to pick up a packet and register as a candidate by the end of March.

If you are interested in being on the Board of Directors, please contact the Community Center at (410)381-0202.

Volunteer on a Committee

The Owen Brown Community Association sponsors several committees that are working to make our community a better place. You are welcome to become involved in any or all of these. Also, if you have a different area of interest, please don't hesitate to contact us!

  • Resident Architectural Committee (RAC)
  • CLEER (Committee for Lake Elkhorn Environmental Restoration) - This group was the primary driver for the intitiation of the Columbia Association's Watershed Advisory Committee.
  • Communications - Be involved in helping improve this website or help provide other ideas for better communicating with Owen Brown Residents
  • Street Captain Program  - Help increase communication and interaction among your neighbors as an Owen Brown "Street Captain."  Street Captains are volunteers who share information between neighbors and the Owen Brown Community Association.  Many also help organize social activities on their street!
