Overview
The Owen Brown Community Association is a non-profit civic organization whose purpose is to promote the health, safety, and social welfare of its residents. A small staff, led by the Village Manager, manages the Owen Brown Community Center and handles the operations of the Owen Brown Community Association. Five elected volunteers serve as the Board of Directors for the Owen Brown Community Association and an additional elected volunteer serves as the Columbia Council representative and ex-officio Village Board member. Together, they oversee all operations of the Owen Brown Community Association. The OBCA advocates for residential concerns to the Columbia Association, Howard County and state officials. The OBCA is dedicated to increasing communication and interaction among neighbors. We also provide free or reduced room rates at the Owen Brown Community Center to non-profit organizations that service our residents.
The Owen Brown Community Association is a separate corporation from the The Columbia Association. The OBCA receives an annual allocation from the CA in exchange for managing the Owen Brown Community Center and providing services for the residents of Owen Brown.
